Permits & INsurances
Making sure you have the correct paperwork
Anyone that is shooting, in the UK or overseas, needs to have their permits and insurances in order.
We assist in preparing applications and obtaining your documentation from the relevant authorities, which in turn will make your trip run smoothly. Leaving the paperwork to our expertise ensures all applications are completed correctly and issued within good time of your arrival.
SHOTGUN CERTIFICATE
Anyone that is shooting with us bringing their own guns must possess a valid certificate, and it must be present with them on the day of the shoot. Each serial number of the gun(s) intended to be used must be listed on your certificate. Legally, you may use a shotgun without a Shotgun Certificate providing the owner of the shotgun is present and he or she has a valid Shotgun Certificate.
VISITOR SHOTGUN PERMIT
If you or any of your guests are travelling from overseas and do not have a UK license but would like to bring guns into the UK, or hire them, you MUST submit a Visitor Shotgun Permit (VSP) application form. Depending on time of year, permits can be issued for up to the length of the shooting season to allow flexibility and repeat visits.
If you are non UK resident and you wish to bring a gun into the UK from overseas for your shoot day(s), a visitor shotgun permit must be acquired. We will assist in arranging them for individuals as well as for team of guns. We would ask that anyone requiring Visitor Shotgun Permits submits their request to our team TWO months prior to the scheduled shoot day.
THIRD PARTY PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE
When shooting or stalking in the UK, it is mandatory to have a Third Party Public Liability Insurance with a minimum cover of £10 million. We will assist in advising on the relevant insurance and in arranging such insurance for you as well as for your guests.
SHOOT CANCELLATION INSURANCE
Adverse Weather Insurance is optional, but we do highly recommend that you insure your days against adverse weather, and we can do this for you. It generally costs between 4 – 5% of the cost of the shoot day(s). If your day is cancelled due to adverse weather and you are not insured, then sadly you will not be eligible for a refund.
If you have opted for Adverse Weather insurance this must be completed 30 days prior to the shoot date.
